Terms of service
1. About us
These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of studiochj.com and the purchase of products from Studio CHJ.
Studio CHJ is operated by Miss Charlotte Horsley-Jones of 2 Grace Road, Desford, Leicestershire, LE9 9FZ.
Email: hello@studiochj.com
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Our products
We sell illustrated and personalised products, including prints, framed prints and bespoke artwork.
We try to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, examples, colours and sizes are as accurate as possible. However, because each item may be handmade, printed to order, or created from a customer-supplied photo, there may be slight variations between the website images and the finished product.
Unless otherwise stated, all artwork is supplied in A4 size, and framed options are designed to fit the A4 print.
3. Personalised and custom orders
Many of our products are made to order and personalised using the information, wording or photos you provide.
It is your responsibility to check that all personalisation details, spellings, dates, names, colours, frame selections and delivery information are correct before placing your order.
If you would like to request something more bespoke, please contact us using the enquiry form on the website before ordering. We cannot guarantee that every bespoke request can be accepted.
4. Customer photos and uploaded content
If you upload or send us a photo, image or other material for use in your order:
- you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it;
- you confirm that it does not infringe another person’s rights;
- you give us permission to use it for the purpose of creating, producing and delivering your order.
You retain ownership of your original photo or image. We only use it as needed to fulfil your order, communicate with you about it, and keep appropriate business records, subject to our Privacy Policy.
We may refuse to use any image or content that we believe is unlawful, offensive, infringing, poor quality, or unsuitable for production.
5. How orders are formed
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy from us.
Your order is only accepted when we confirm it by email or otherwise begin processing it. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where necessary, for example if:
- the item is unavailable;
- the personalisation request is unsuitable;
- we identify a pricing error;
- we suspect fraud or misuse of the site.
If we cancel an order before it is completed, we will refund any amount paid.
6. Prices and payment
All prices shown on the website are in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise.
Prices may change from time to time, but changes will not affect orders already accepted.
Payment must be made in full at checkout using the payment methods made available on the website.
7. Proofs and approvals
Where we offer a proofing stage, we will send a proof for your review before printing or final production.
It is your responsibility to review the proof carefully and confirm that all details are correct. Once a proof has been approved, we are not responsible for errors that were visible in the proof and approved by you.
8. Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframes shown on the website, product page, checkout page, or in your order confirmation. Delivery estimates are guidance only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery times may vary depending on the product, whether the order is personalised, seasonal demand, courier performance, and your location.
You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery address is correct. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect address details provided by you.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
9. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Because many of our products are made to your specifications or clearly personalised, you do not usually have the standard 14-day right to cancel simply because you have changed your mind. That exception is set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. If an item is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under consumer law.
If your item arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us at hello@studiochj.com within 7 days of delivery and include your order number and photos where possible.
If we agree that a refund is due, it will be made to your original payment method.
10. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including artwork, illustrations, product designs, branding, text, graphics, and images created by Studio CHJ, belongs to Studio CHJ or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, copy, sell, distribute, edit or exploit any part of our website or artwork without our prior written permission.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, purchasing a product does not transfer copyright in the artwork.
11. Website use
You agree not to misuse this website, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, or use the site for unlawful purposes.
We may suspend or withdraw the website, or parts of it, at any time and without notice.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or for defective products where the law does not allow limitation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- indirect or consequential loss;
- loss of profit, income, business or opportunity;
- delays outside our reasonable control.
Our total liability in relation to any order will not exceed the amount paid for that order, except where the law says otherwise.
13. Privacy
Your use of this website and any personal data you provide are also governed by our Privacy Policy below.
14. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you live in another part of the UK and applicable consumer law allows you to bring a claim there.
